Social Walks – New Buddha Way

About once a month we hold a social walk some where in the Surrey countryside. It is an opportunity to get to know some of the participants of NBW in a relaxed and peaceful way.

Our Walks

Chobham Common

A stunning 6-mile walk over the high pine-topped heath of Chobham Common. We will set off from the Staple Hill Car Park (approximate postcode GU24 8TP) at 10.00am.

Compton

Compton is near Guildford. This is a fairly easy going 4 mile walk starting from the Artist Studio cark park at Watts Gallery, GU3 1DQ. This walk starts at 10:30am

Fleet Pond

This walk starts from Fleet Pond car park off the A3013 at Fleet, 1.4 miles from the M3 (junction 4A), at 10:00am. You turn off the A3013 after a Shell station and go across a small bridge over the railway, then turn right down to the car park, NOT to the Southwood Lane car park shown! This walk is about 5.5 miles and fairly flat.

Frensham Ponds

Frensham Ponds is south of Farnham. This is a 5 mile walk where it is mostly flat but there is a small but steep hill in the middle, which for most people should be manageable. This walk starts at 10:00am.

Greywell

Greywell in Hampshire. It’s not that far from Jct 5 of the M3 and about 15 minutes from Basingstoke. It’s quite a flat 5 mile walk and takes us along part of Basingstoke canal and into a nature reserve. This walk starts at 10:30am.

Hampshire Downs

Join us for a circular 5-mile walk from the beautiful village of Hannington, with some great views over the North Hampshire Downs into Berkshire. We will set off from Hannington (RG26 5TZ, off the A339) at 10.00am.

Puttenham

Puttenenham, between Guildford and Farnham on the A31. It is a 4.5 mile walk, going in part through Puttenham Common and although there are a few a steeper parts it’s not that strenuous a walk. This walk starts at 10.30am from the Puttenham Common top car park where there is plenty of parking.

Ranmore West

Ranmore West car park, a couple of miles west of Dorking. This is in the Surrey Hills and should allow us some great views. The walk itself is around 5 miles, and takes around 2 hours, but please bear in mind there are a few hilly parts in it. This walk starts at 10:15am start (the car park can get busy later).

Silent Pool

A circular 6-mile walk around a well-known beauty spot on the North Downs Way with great views from St Martha’s Hill. Please be aware there are some steeper sections along this route. We will set off from Silent Pool car park (approx. postcode: GU5 9BW) at 10.00am.
